NESU-Finanssi
NESU, short for Nordiska Ekonomie Studerandes Union (Swedish for “Nordic Economy Students Union”), is an organization which brings together business school students from the Nordic countries and Estonia for both fun and networking. This non-profit, politically un-aligned organization was founded in the 1950s. There are members of NESU in all business school cities in Finland: Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Pori, Vaasa, Jyväskylä, Mikkeli, Kuopio, Joensuu, Lappeenranta, and of course Oulu. In addition, the international NESU events have participants from Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, and the latest member country Estonia.
NESU in Oulu
NESU-Finanssi is one of the local organizations of NESU and it organizes many events in Oulu, but are most known of Sitsi-parties. Sits parties (Sitsit) are an academic table party with singing and getting to know new people. Definitely a Finnish must experience!
By joining to NESU-Finanssin aktiivit -Facebook group and by liking NESU-Finanssi both in Facebook and Instagram/Tiktok @nesu_finanssi, you keep up with the upcoming NESU-events and get to see what is going on. The new NESU-Finanssi committee will be chosen at the end of the year.
NESU is an open community and as a Finanssi student, you are a NESU member too! Therefore, you do not have to be part of the NESU-Finanssi committee to take part in these amazing events all around Finland and Nordic countries. By attending NESU-events, you get to know other business students, expand your views and have fun!

NESU Finland
In Finland, the highest organ in NESU is the NESU Board of Directors, elected at the national assembly during the NESU Summer Cabin event. The term for the board lasts from one Summer Cabin event to the next one, and any member may run for a position in the board. NESU-Finland aims to avoid overlap of the NESU events in different cities and to help all NESU cities to work together for the common goals.

Sits parties are academic table parties, where we sing, eat, drink and get to know new people. A finnish student life’s must experience!
NESU Conference
The main function of NESU is to organize semi-annual conferences in some Nordic university city. Every spring and autumn, NESU-members from different Nordic countries gather to spend a week together and participate in different activities. Conferences play a very important role in enhancing the inter-Nordic relations of NESU-members and in supporting networking and co-operation.
Every conference has a specific theme and the program of the conference week revolves around this theme. Themes are chosen by the organizing team and they relate to business studies. The theme of the week will be discussed in company visits, lectures, and workshops.
Besides this formal program, the week includes also a more relaxed evening program. This enables participants to get to know each other better and form even wider networks between Nordic business students.
Other NESU events
Other NESU events organized in Finland are NESU-Dagen organized in January, Wappurundi with traveling through different cities in April and the Summer Cottage party organized in August.
